Africa Digital Economy Labs (ADEL) is committed to promoting inclusive digital infrastructure for shared economic growth in African countries by empowering African digital ecosystems through the adoption of innovative digital solutions based on affordability, interoperability and open standards.
How it works
Our Approach
As an ecosystem enabler and market intervenor, we utilise convening, sandbox deployments, digital regulator partnerships, and small real economy pilots to execute ADEL’s program strategy.

Strategic Partnerships
ADEL works closely with governments, businesses, and civil society organizations to identify and address critical digital challenges. We serve as a frontline partner, entering into agreements to implement cutting-edge software solutions that meet the specific needs of African countries.

Innovation Lab and Incubator
The Wopanga Studio serves as a demonstration centre of innovation such as DPI living lab, Fab Labs being used as a tool towards both urban and rural economic renewal by way of equipping various groups with skills they can use to offer services that can earn them a livelihood. The Studio acts as a center for Rapid Prototyping and proof-of-concept activities, with the express intention not only of providing education and nurturing innovation, but also of churning out small and medium businesses critical to Africa development.

We believe in the power of collaboration to drive innovation. ADEL works closely with technology partners to enhance and refine software solutions, ensuring they are tailored to the unique needs of the African context.
